Alarm / Immobilisers

Certain insurance companies require Alarms or Immobilisers that have passed a thorough testing process. Thatcham ( the test and research centre ) test that these alarm systems meet their standards. Once these systems have passed, they are classed as Thatcham approved and are given an evaluation number. These systems are then divided into three categories, CAT 1 Alarms, CAT 2 Immobilisers and CAT 2-1 Alarm upgrade. Upgrade Alarms can be fitted when the car or van already has an approved immobiliser fitted.
